Jackoplane just registered a new domain jckpry.me. May it be Siri related?

jckpry.me

Just two hours ago, Jackoplane asked the people on twitter if anybody knew a good domain register. Someone replied with “hover.com”. Soon after that, Jack tweeted:

Test, Test - http://jckpry.me/ 093b3j1i141u021d0Q2W

The domain “jckpry.me” was created on the 31st of October 2011 at 01:00:33 UTC. The DNS Servers of jckpry.me are ns1.hover.com [216.40.47.26] and ns2.hover.com [64.98.148.13] which indicates that the domain was created by Jackoplane.

If you visit his link, all you see is an image of an iPhone while recovering (image above). If you try to visit “jckpry.me” you get redirected to “hello.jckpry.me”, but there is nothing on that site.

rud0lf77 Siri port

@rud0lf77 tweeted that he is making progress with his Siri port. He is now able to connect to Apple’s servers, but the servers won’t answer his requests just yet. He is using files from an iPhone 4S, so he can’t upload the files because of copyright issues.

Here´s one screenshot. i´ll upload the second one in a few minutes, siri still tries connecting to servers.. http://pic.twitter.com/I2IowGYk - rud0lf77

A few minutes later he tweeted that the Server now talks to him, but doesn’t process his requests.

Soo, the Server talks to us, but of course doesn´t answer to our requests. I´ll upload some screenshots now! 😀 - rud0lf77

And now, Siri talks to me!!! It says that it can´t connect to the server. http://pic.twitter.com/XE7GZSgH - rud0lf77

How to get the Siri UI on your iPhone 4 right now

@rud0lf77 just released a tutorial on how to install the Siri UI on an iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch or iPad.

This is just the User Interface. You will not be able to use Siri!

I personally would NOT recommend installing the UI on your Phone, because you won’t be able to use Siri and you might break something if you are not careful. Just wait until either rud0lf77 or Jackoplane release a fully functional version of Siri. Continue reading

It has been a while since we last heard news about Jackoplane’s Siri port. But it looks like he is still making progress. He recently tweeted that his port now works on the Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 as well.

GH0STi: @Jackoplane so wait the CDMA iPhone 4 can’t use Siri ???
Jackoplane: @GH0STi It works now, before it didn’t.

Jackoplane also clarifies that currently only the iPhone 4 is able to connect to Apple’s servers, but he is working on the other devices tomorrow. Continue reading

Video showing Siri on an iPod touch, still doesn’t talk to Apple

Another video was released showing Siri running on an iPhone 4 and iPod touch. As we can see, Siri still doesn’t connect to Apples servers. The video was uploaded by @euwars and @rud0lf77.

@rud0lf77 just tweeted that they need some files from an iPhone 4S in order to get it working.

We need some files, we´re missing many resources like images and language files. Please send them to me, if you´ve got them. @rud0lf77

It looks like Jackoplane’s Siri port has problems running on the Verizon iPhone 4. He tweeted that he needs some files from a Verizon iPhone 4 to fix some problems. It’s nice to see that Jackoplane is still working on his port, but we would still like to see a video that shows his port connecting to apple’s servers.
