How to send e-mails with Siri the easy way

Siri EmailWhen writing e-mails with Siri, usually you would do it like that:

You: “I would like to send an email.”
Siri: “To whom shall I send it?”
You: “Steve.”
Siri: “What’s the subject of your email?
You: “Lunch tomorrow”
Siri: “What would you like your email to say?”
You: “Hey Steve, lets have lunch tomorrow!”
Siri: “Here’s the email message to Steve. Ready to send it?”
You: “Send.”

While this process works perfectly fine, it isn’t fast. You can get Siri to write your email much faster by saying: “Email Steve about Lunch tomorrow and say Hey Steve, lets have lunch tomorrow!” That’s it!

So the formula is: “Email [name] about [subject] and say [message]”

To reply to a new email you can just say “Reply Ok, see you tomorrow.” Continue reading

  • Blogger will then send you a URL for your new blog and a claim code which can be used to associate your number with an existing blog.
  • To create a new post, just send a text message to 256447 (or create a new contact “Blogger” with the number “256447”).
If you don’t have a text messaging plan, this method may be a bit expensive for you. Another way to make new posts is by using Mail-to-Blogger.

How to search Google, Yahoo or Bing with Siri

Search Engine Logos Google Yahoo BingDid you know you can tell Siri which specific search engine to use on the fly?

In Settings > Safari you can define your default search engine. If you ask Siri to search for something, it will use whatever search engine you have chosen in your Settings. If you temporarily want to switch engines, all you need to do is ask Siri to search with a specific service. You can do so simply by saying “Search Yahoo for Siri”, and it will look up “Siri” on Yahoo without changing your default search engine.
