Someone managed to port Siri to his iPod Touch and successfully connected to Apple’s servers. He didn’t release the source code or a tutorial yet, but it looks like we could get the Siri Port before an iPhone 4S jailbreak is available.
Can I install Siri on my iPhone 4 or any other iOS 5 device at the moment?
No, there is currently no way to install Siri on other iOS devices. The reason being is that every Siri request needs to be authenticated. As soon as a jailbreak for the iPhone 4S is out, we can copy the required files and may see a working Siri Port.
But I have seen a video that shows Siri on an iPhone 4!
Yes, there is one legit video that shows Siri on the iPhone 4. The video was made by @chpwn and @stroughtonsmith. They had access to a jailbroken iPhone 4S and were therefore successfully able to port Siri. But sadly the jailbreak isn’t available to the public yet and neither is their Port.
What is the Siri UI, GUI or User Interface?
GUI and UI stand for Graphical User Interface. All of the current “Siri Ports” only provide the User Interface of Siri. This means that you will be able to press the home button and it looks like you have Siri on your device. However, Siri will not be able to connect to Apple’s Servers and therefore it won’t understand what you are saying.
How can I get the Siri UI on my device?
We do not recommend to install the Siri UI on your device at this time, because there are numerous people who have problems after installing the Siri UI. Some are stuck with a respring look, others report issues with iMessage, FaceTime, video recording or Spotlight Search.
If you still want to install the Siri UI on your device, here are some of the “Siri Ports”:
